44 end of the wall you descend lo the road along Kalvebod- strand. You proceed to the right and will pass a cosy little house on the right close to Langebro (bridge), (which is shortly to be removed or at all events rebuilt) and then crossing the bridge itself a fine view may be obtained to both sides. Having crossed the bridge you arrive at the Main facade of the arsenal to the left (see page 17). Op posite thereto are some tail warehouses by >Adolphs Plads«, where the steamers for western Norway are moored. To the left of Langebro is the »Gas v s e r ks havn* (gasworks harbour), where the coal steamers are lying, and behind it the Ve s t r e Gasvserk (western gasworks). This place will be the site of the new goods railway station. The columns are supporting 7 arches of Eu- ville-stone, between which are placed castings in bronze of classic sculptures. The Sirens in the gable and the two figures on either side of the middle arch were modelled by Hammeleff. The arched ceiling of the hall is in light- brown terracotta and gold, and rests on 8 yellow chan nelled marble columns. On the ground floor is Danish art (to the left) and French art (to the right), upstairs renais sance ait and paintings etc. On the ground floor to the left are also some German, Swedish, English and Italian works of art. The objects are all supplied with name-plates. Immediately to the left of the Glyptothek, at the end of a small lawn, is a fine statue of the historical painter and designer A. .T. Carstons (modelled by Stein). We now continue along the lawn. To the left Tivoli with the Varietes *A r c na l h e a t r e l « and nearly opposite thereto the red building of the ma i n f i re s t a t i on (PI. f.
