Hall square, frequented by a large and well-to-de public. National is a very big and very popular restau ran t on Vesterbros Passage with an orchestra of considerable size and a corresponding audience. I t is much frequented by the artists from Circus and the surrounding places of amuse­ ment. On Sotorvet at Queen Louises Bridge is situated the Cafe de la Brine, the only la r­ ger restaurant in this p a rt of the city. On Frederiksberg Alle is Osborne, much fre­ quented. W ith Paladsteatret, the big moving picture thea­ tre, is connected a larg e cafe and Ny Rosenborg, near the Town-Hall square enjoyes a large clientelage on account of its low prices. If we finally mention the Grand on Kongens Nytorv, llavnc Kafeen (the harbour caf6) a t Knippelsbro with a nice view of the harbour, and (he restau ran t in Zoological Garden, we have given a list of the most known restau­ rants of the city. On the tra i­ ning-ship for ships-cooks where the restau ran t 'is on the deck, one has a view of the old Copenhagen with its still canals and crumbling buil­ dings, while the tw ilight of the summerniglit covers the old town, the church of Our Saviour and the still rippling waters of the canals.

One of the best known is the Caf<5 Bernina in Vimmel- skaftet. Many business men, especially of the film business, have their lunch here. In for­ mer days B ernina was an a r­ tists cafe, where the boheme from the last p a rt of the cen­ tu ry had its headquarters. A restaurant of a sim ilar kind is Bronnums Cafe on the cor­ ner of Kongens Nytorv and Tordenskjoldsgade, chiefly fre- qented by the actors from the Royal Theatre and the young artists from the academy at Charlotteborg. On Gammel Kongevej is a restaurant, called the French Kitchen — dot franske Kolc- ken — conducted by a lady. The French dishes, in the meantime, m ust be ordered in advance. German food can be had in Cafe do VUnivcrsite, as well as German beer. On Vestervoldgade an Italian, Oianini, lias started the I ta ­ lian restau ran t Italia with wines, directly imported from Italy'. A restau ran t with very small prices, Kvinderncs Kale- ken (the'wom ens kitchen) is situated in Vimmelskaftet and in Lovstnede is a restaurant for vegatarians.
