The Chapel of Christian IX in Roskilde Cathedral.

kings and their queens, ex­ cepting Caroline Mathilde. In the crypt, under the church, the princess Marie, (lie wife of the prince Valde- mar, is resting in her fine marble sarcophagus. The newest addition to the cathedral is the chapel of Christian IX , built after the design of the architect Clem- mensen. In the chapel are placed doub­ le-sarcophagus for Christian IX and queen Louise and for Frcderik V III and his still li­ ving dowager queen Louise. altar-piece,, the bishops chair, the reliefs representing the Crusades, the prebendal stalls from 1420, the curious figures of y>Pcr Dover and Kirsten Kimere on the old clock insi­ de the church, the richly gilt organ and the royal scat. The cathedral is open week­ days 10—12, free admission. Tickets to the chapels, 50 0re, at the entrance of the south­ western porch, weekdays 10 A. M. to 7 P. M. (or, when the days are getting shorter, to sunset). On Sundays and Ho­ lidays the church generally is open 12— \y2 and 4—7 (ex­ cept when service of some kind is tak ing place).
