The Port of Aalborg—Nørresundby, situated at the Liim-Fiord in the center of North-Jutland is next to Copenhagen the most important in Denmark. It is the center of the principal Danish industries viz: Cement (large exports), Manure, Tobacco, Spirit etc. and has also a considerable export of Bacon, Eggs, Potatoes, Cattle etc. Due to its excellent location at the Liim-Fiord and at a railway center it is the principal distributing center for exports and imports to North Jutland and parts of Middle Jutland. The fairway from the Kattegat to Aalborg has a minimum depth of 24 feet and is well provided with leading lights. Depth of water at quays 24 feet. The total length of quays is appr. 4 miles. Vessels pay harbour dues in proportion to the cargo discharges, but not more than 25 Øre inward and 25 Øre outward per net register ton, and the harbours of the Twin Cities is in regard to harbour dues consi- dered as one harbour. Vessels calling at the port for bunkers, provisions or repairs only, pay no harbour dues.
