T HE PORT OF COPENHAGEN is situated at the entrance to the Baltic and offers exceptional facilities for all transit and trans­ shipping trade on the Baltic. The depth of water is up to 10 metres. No tide. The harbour dues are very moderate. No. other charges, such as fees to the State, lightdues etc., are levied for the use of the Port. No dues are paid by ships which only call at the Port for bunkers, provisions, order or repairs. — Modern ship building yards, floating and graving docks with the capacity of 13.600 tons. The Port is provided with bonded warehouses, pneumatic grain discharge plants, coaling depots and tanks with bunker oil.- Powerful tug boats are available- The Copenhagen Free Port, the most modern part of -the Port, is accommodated with modern cranes, silos, a first class cold storage and ware- houses. The covered floor area exceeds 2.000.000 square feet. The Free Port is provided with a most extensive railway system linking up all quays and warehouses with the Danish State Railways. Copenhagen is connected by steamship lines with all principal ports in the world.
