1445 18.00 Almost all branches of industry have taken part in this exceedingly great rise. Of the figures for 1927 (260 mili. Kr.) about 100 mili. were derived from the iron and metal industries (including ships and automobiles) and about 75 miil. Kr. from the (especially che- mical-technical) industries who are mainly based upon imported raw and auxiliary materials. From the preliminary figures prepared showing Denmarks foreign trade during the first nine months af 1928 it can be seen that there has been a very considerable increase of industrial exports, for instance the increase under the helids:, oil and oilcakes, ships, cement, marine motor engines, will in all probability prove to be no less than 40 mili. Kroner. In conclusion may be mentioned the approximate value of a part of Denmark’s most important industrial production in 1927. K 260

Information is lacking with regard to the value of the output of a number of the following very important .industries: Sugar refineries, bread factories, the*wood industry and the building industry. The principal organ of the Danish industries is: The Industrial Council (Address Vestre Boulevard 18, Copenhagen, [V]. Chairman: Chr. Overgaard Esq., R.* DM.), the object of which institution is to deal with all technical and industrial matters which are referred to it; to follow.the industrial development at home and abroad, and to collect information on economic, commercial, social and technical questions of interest to the industries.
