The greatest attraction of this much frequented villa town is the nearlying extremely beautiful woods with the Deer Park. The Deer Park. The park covers an area of some 870 hectares and at the eastern border along the Sound it is connected with the Jægersborg woods towards the north. In 1670 Christian V fenced off this part for hunting purposes. There are still great herds of deer grazing on the large plains of the park and between the tall trunked beech trees, and this is the reason why there is practically no under- growth in the woods.
