To yonder plains the harmless fawns retire, In cheerful gambols, guarded by their Sire; The Goddess ’self, beneath yon bowering shade, With rival oaks, protects the happy glade. Huntsman, avaunt! restrain thy impious sports, Here peace, delight of kings, alone resorts.

Beyond an extensive plain, lies in a valley, Raadvadsmoellen, a manufactory belonging to the company of hardwaremen, at Copenhagen. The superintendants are mostly English, and the articles scarcely inferior to British. But im portations from Birmingham, Sheffield, &c. are, notwithstanding, essential to the demands of the country. This undertaking being car ried on with considerable spirit, it cannot fail, in time, to prove highly beneficial. It already forms the most important of the British esta blishments in Denmark. On our return from the manufactory, we stopped at the Hermitage, formerly a hunting palace, in the neighbourhood of which the deer are seen grazing in herds of from five to six hundred. The eminence, on which the pa lace is situated, commands a fine view, of which the sea constitutes a considerable portion.
