The order uses it as its lodge, b u t in the big concert-halls most of the concerts of any consequence are held (see chapter 12). The palace is situated back from the street, behind a court and a magnificent iron fence, considered one of the most beautiful works of wrought iron in Denmark. Across 'th e street on the corners Dronningens Tverga- de are the hotel Phonix and the Moltke Picture-Gallery (see chapter 7). Having passed the Dron­ ningens Tvergade, the whole aspect of the street is chan­ ged. Pompous buildings lie

To the rig h t of the square is the Garnisons Kir he (see chapter 9). On the corner of Amaliegade is a big building, belonging to The, Danish Pe­ troleum Company, Ltd. This building formerly was called P rin s Wilhelms False and contained a number of club- rooms and rooms for enter­ tainm ent. At present the Pe­ troleum Company occupies the whole building. R eturning to Bredgade we mention the B ritish Lega­ tions tine building on the corner of Set. Annseplads (see chapter 2). Next to this is the old, stylish Concert-Palace (for­ merly Schimmelmanns P ala­ ce) built by the architect I. G. Rosenberg. It is now the
