The town has been named after the Fredensborg palace (see page 200) famous for merly as the meeting place of the royal families of Europe. Next to Fredensborg is the idyllic village of Asminderod. From Fredensborg the train passes on to Kvistgaard, Snekkersten and Elsinore.

W ith the above mentioned smallest railway, one passes through the largest forest of Denmark, the Gribskov, cove ring an area of more than 550 hectares, past Gribso to
Kagerup. From here a side track leads to Helsinge and to the modern watering place of Tisvilde. From Kagerup, the tra in goes north through the forest.
