The attention of the tou rists in the meantime, is espe cially attracted by the famous Kronborg Castle (see page207), situated north-east of the town, visible from everywhere. Here the Museum of Commer ce and Navigation (see page 156) is installed and is very interesting. Among the other sights , we mention the very fashionable w atering place of Marienlyst, with hotel, restau rant, Casino, sporting ground and a number of villas for the guests. In the garden is a statue of Hamlet and another of llol- gcr Danshe. Tn the old p ark of the palace (in English sty

Danish friends of France have erected by Elsinore a beautiful monument to the French soldiers, who died in Denmark on their way to their country after the war. West of the town on the road to Gurre the sanitarium of Montebello is situated. Among the other sights of Elsinore may be mentioned the largest church, St. Olai KirIce from the year of 1200 and the St. Marie KirJcc , the south-wing of the former old monastery of the Carmelites, highly worth seeing with the fine gables and the arched walk surrounding the square frater-gardeu.
