Tlie Sports-house ftt the •Stadion*. preferring to be outside the large organisation and besides these again there are several private courses of gymnastics, swim ming, fencing, boxing etc. And further all the bicycle-riders of Denmark are outside the organisations, both the riders, who consider it a sport, and the many, who are riding for the sake of the exercise and for practical reasons. I t is estimated, lliat. the bicycle- riders number about 1 million. And finally m ust be counted the large number of boys and young men, who have joined the scouts, the Frivilligt. Drengeforlmnd (the boy volunteers) and »De unges Idr»t«, three organisations, numbering thousands all over,the coun try. All tliis is a strong proof, th a t the sporting-movement has taken a very good hold of the Danish people, and even if the Danish sport in many ways is inferior to the corresponding branches abroad, Danish representatives of boxing, wrestling, foot-ball, tennis, fencing, hockey and shooting and some times riding and swimming a t the great international meetings in the meantime have brought home the victory, at well as the Danish gymnastics, its pioneers and instructors abroad are respected everywhere.
