When the restaurants of Nimb, Wi- vel, Skydebanen, d’Angleterre etc., close a t night, the more persevering p a rt of the guests go to the elegant »Adlon«, where one a t 1 o’cl. may meet a large number of well- known 'Copenhageners with ladies. The husband does not hesitate to take his wife to »Adlon«. The Copenhageners love the dance and come to this place for the sake of dancing only. Two excellent

orchestras, one American and one Danish are playing alter­ nately, thereby elim inating the pauses. Between the dances are served sandwiches,cock­ ta ils , beer or wine. Even in this exclusive club it is not compulsory to drink wine and the prices are not above the common prices of the restau­ rants. Tn the winterseason, one m ust not take p a rt in the dance w ithout being in eve­ ning dress, in the summer this is not necessary. Besides the here mentioned, a number of sim ilar clubs are found in Copenhagen, but most of them are only ephe­ meral.
