T HE PORT OF COPENHAGEN, with direct access from the Sound. is situated at the entrance to the Baltic and offers exceptiona) facilities for all transit and transshipping trade on the Baltic, having a quay length of 36.300 meters. The harbour dues are very moderate. No other charges, such as fees to the State, light dues etc., are levied for the use of the port. Ships which solely call at the port on account of damage occured during the voyage and at the port make repairs to enable the ship to continue the voyage and ships only bunkering, taking [provisions, or for order do not pay any dues. * The depth of water in the entrance to the harbour and in one basin is 10 meters. Other places in the harbour up to 9,5 meters. No tide. In the harbour there are bonded warehouses, pneumatic grain discharge plants, coaling depots with modern cranes and tanks with bunker oil (fuel and diesel oil). Powerful tug boats are available day and night. Modern shipbuilding yard with facilities for all kind of repair work. Floating and graving docks capable of docking ships up to a lenght of 530 leet, capacity 13.600 tons. Copenhagen is connected by steamship lines with all principal ports in the world.
