The Jewel Office. Is situated in the large tower near the Knights- hall in which arc kept the crown Jewels, or regalia, which arc of inestimable worth; the Royal crown is enriched with precious stones of every description, and here are likewise preserved the other emblems of Roy alty used at the coronation of the Sovereigns of Den mark; namely, the golden sceptre, the golden orb, and the sword; on the scabbard of which are the Royal arms of Denmark, Norway, and the Provinces; over each of which is a crown of Diamonds. A Golden vessel beautifully enamelled, and orna mented with diamonds; which at coronations contain the holy ointment.. In tliis apartment the Royal Laws of the Nation written on parchment, and undersigned by His Majesty Frederick the third arc deposited, and to which is af fixed Ilis Royal seal; it is in a silver ease, and on which is the following inscription: ttLcx regia Feeder. III. MDCLXF. XIV. Novemb. There likewise arc preserved many other emblems of royalty. A large Amethyst that decorates the canopy of tho throne; it weighs nine ounces and two grains.
