To the right the road tu rn s through some high hills, the Ulvcdalene, (the vales of the wolves), during the W inter much used for tobogganing and ski-ing and in the sum mer the open-air-theatre is si­ tuated here (see page 274). I t is one of the most beautiful forests of Nort- Sealand, charactistic by its lack of underwood, a conse­ quence of being the abode of numerous deer. Dyrehaven is a forest of beeches, but besides these are found f. i. magnificent old oaks and on the Erem itage plain some —400 years old white thorns like big trees. W orth noti­ cing is the p art planted with spruce in 1764 near Klam- penborg, the oldest in Den­ mark. Having passed the railway- viaduct a red gate leads into Dyrehaven.
