Georg Jen sen : T ureen.
When formerly the word of »Copenhagen« was mentioned abroad, it always reminded the foreigner about the fa mous Danish porcelain. During the last years, in the meantime, the porcelain has got a com petitor: the Danish silverware, and these two a rt products now uphold the name of Denmark and are — e a ch in its lin e — le a d i n g everywhere, where a rt is ap p r e c ia te d . The Danish silver-sm ith Georg Jensen, in the begin ning of the century created an entirely new style: »Tho Georg Jensen Style«, which o f c o u r se , as everything good, has had innumerable im ita tors.
In the leading art-museums in the old, as well as in the new world, the silverware of Georg Jensen has been pu t in the place of honour; but the tourist, visiting the Da nish capital, interested in the new mouvements inside the art-industry, ought to see the two exhibition-rooms: Bred- gadc No. 21 and Ostergade No. 29, where large selections of the masters works are exhibited. We feel persuaded, th a t if a foreigner would like to see the manual mode of tre a t ment of these beautiful goods from the furnace to the ready piece of art, he will be well received a t the silver-sm iths work-shop, Ragnagade 7.
